I recently finished my Masters in Information Studies at the University of Texas at Austin's School of Information. Prior to my studies at the University of Texas, I received my Bachelors in Art with an Art History Thesis at Reed College.
After having worked in a variety of institutional and non-profit settings, I found that my strengths and passions lie with describing, organizing, and providing access to resources in both analog and digital environments. The rapidly evolving digital landscape affords great opportunities to facilitate and support information literacy, visual literacy, and the preservation of our cultural heritage and its historical contexts through digital repositories and digitization initiatives.
Currently I am a cataloguer for Salt Lake Community College. Based in the Markosian Library at the Taylorsville Redwood Location, the cataloging department identifies and describes resources for all SLCC campuses. Additionally, the cataloging department is in the process of building up a digital repository.
